DAILY PODCAST COVERAGE

WHO

The host of the podcast is incredibly important, as they will be a part of the show, interviewing and interacting with the racers, organizers, and support crew. Race podcasts typically focus on the mid-pack, since these racers are more willing to slow down and talk about their experience.

Alden Roth, the man behind the microphone and computer, is typically the host. If you would rather the host be someone else, from the race organization or otherwise, that works just as well!

Alden has over ten years of experience creating multimedia content. He thinks that good storytelling is key to making your content resonate, and always achieves the highest quality possible.

WHAT

Each episode will be 15-60 minutes long depending on the size of your race, with in-depth interviews and race reports making up the bulk of the content.

The listeners will learn about the race, experiences that racers are having, and other updates from the organizers, supporters, and locals. These will be woven together with music, natural ambiance of the location, and scripted segues from the host.

There would be an episode produced for every day of the race, as well as a pre-race episode, and options for post-race episodes with category winners.

WHEN

Audio recording will happen at all times of the day in the field. Recording will start the day before the race starts (Day 0) and continue through the last day of the race (or a different date as you so choose).

The interviews will be edited the same day or night that they are recorded, with the finished episodes being released the morning after they were recorded. So Day 0 is released on the morning of Day 1, Day 1 is released the morning of Day 2, and so on.

WHY

Daily Podcasts allow you to reach an audience that loves the podcast medium and might not other wise interact with your event. Beyond this, the format allows for deeper connections with your race and riders that isn’t possible on other social platforms that prioritize short form content and penalize longer content.

It’s also a great additional benefit for your Sponsors where they can gain more visibility and impressions with your audience.

HOW

Alden will join your media crew or other control car and travel throughout the race with you. He will record the interviews when the media crew finds racers or other subjects, and will edit the podcast while traveling or waiting for racers.

If your event is unable to supply transport in one of the control cars, it is possible for Alden to provide his own transportation, but this will result in shorter episodes, higher costs, or both depending on the race.
